On the 21st of March 2024, Maria Sarrate, abogada in Zafo Law, and Lars Hovmand Mikkelsen, partner in Zafo Law, participated in webinar, arranged by BDO Danmark, giving their inputs on the subject “Tax obligations when you hire employees in Spain”.<\/p>\n\n

In the webinar, we took a closer look at, among other things, the following:<\/p>\n

What must a Scandinavian company consider if it lets its employees travel to Spain and work for a period (tax obligations including Spanish registration obligations, requirements for the employment contract and social security)?<\/p>\n

What should a Scandinavian company consider if it wants to employ local Spanish employees to work for the company in Spain or when establishing a Spanish company (tax obligations, employer obligations and social security)?<\/p>\n

From Zafo Law’s side, we questioned the often-occurring assumption that Spain is just a holiday destination, as Spain can actually offer a competitive advantage for Scandinavian companies when it comes to being able to attract qualified labor to the company under the Spanish sun.<\/p>\n
